Memory Lane: The Converse Weapon

The Converse Weapon is my favorite basketball shoe of all time, even if they did weigh 14.5 pounds each.

What's really amazing is that, in its day, this commercial was considered clever and hip.

Marketing gold!

Young Hillary Clinton

Bad day at the office?

So, I blew off a little steam. What's the big deal?

What do you think? Is this worker freak-out caught on tape real or staged?

My Son the Aspiring Dentist

A few days ago, Lincoln came up with what he considered a really cool way to pull his loose tooth, and he wanted it all caught on tape...

The tooth eventually came out, but by much more conventional methods.

Awesome Christmas Surprise

This one will put a lump in your throat, especially when they show the little girl crying. Try to keep it together, especially if you're watching this at work.

This gives new meaning to the phrase, "It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it."

Classic Mormon Cartoon

We've taken some very informative looks at the Mormon religion, thanks to the video series from Living Hope Ministries. For more details, click here and here.

However, no Mormon exposé would be complete without the classic "Mormon cartoon". I remember seeing this cartoon a couple of times in my high school Bible classes, so when I found it on YouTube a while back, it caused me to reminisce of those olden, golden school days when I was a gangley, greasy, outcast nerd who sat alone at the lunch table and couldn't get a girl to acknowledge my existence.... Some things never change, but I digress.

While the cartoon may have triggered weird high school flashbacks for me, it should prove to be safe entertainment for you, the faithful ragamuffinwriter readership.

Testing Blogger Video

I don't think its anybody's birthday (well, I know it's somebody's birthday, somewhere in the world; just nobody I know), but Shiloh likes singing with this bear, and the whole thing was just cute enough that it gave me a good excuse to record it and try out the Blogger Video feature for the first time.

Update: I knew as soon as I posted this, someone would remind me who's birthday it is. Thanks Carrie. I can't believe I forgot it was Phil's birthday. Phil - friend of years, friend of tears - happy birthday!

"I like to sing high, I like to sing low"

V's post brought back fond memories of another popular - but infinitely less gifted - Sesame Street guest appearance. HappySlip is talented and funny. Nick and Aaron Carter...not so much of either, yet the ladies can't seem to get enough of 'em.

Watch at your own risk.

HappySlip's French Fries

This made me laugh. I especially like how near the end of the video, she chomps down on two fries at once, in time with the music. Very funny to me. I know, I'm weird.

DNA vs. the Book of Mormon

Here's the next installment of Living Hope Ministries video series, comparing Christianity to Mormonism. Living Hope is comprised of former Mormons who have a heart for sharing the grace and truth of the Gospel with those who are confused with or confined by the false teachings of Mormanism. For more, see my post The Bible vs. the Book of Mormon.

Mississippi Miracle

Trinity vs. Millsaps.

Fifteen laterals?!

It is being reported that founder and president of Millsaps, country music legend Ronnie Milsap, is being asked to step down from his post after the football team's poor performance in the waning seconds of Saturday's game.

The college's Board of Directors determined that Milsap's 1973 hit "(All Together Now) Let's Fall Apart" was partially to blame for the team's defensive debacle. Mr. Milsaps could not be reached for comment.

(I sense another installment of For the Ladies is in the works.)
