Is 'The Coming Economic Earthquake' here?

Pope: Financial crisis shows wealth a 'house built on sand'

"We see it now in the collapse of the great banks that money disappears, it's nothing," the pontiff said Monday at a conference of bishops at the Vatican.
Looks like Larry Burkett may have been correct when he wrote The Coming Economic Earthquake way back in 1991. Dr. Leonard Gaston of the Foundation for Economic Education wrote an excellent, unbiased review of Burkett's book. You can find it here.

Mark,

It looks like Larry was spot on when he said this back in '91!

BTW, here is some more commentary from Crown Financial Ministries' CEO, Chuck Bentley, on Larry's book.

I love your "about me" description. Classic.

Lee,

Thanks for the link. I was trying to link that article (or one similar to it), but I kept getting SQL errors or something weird like that.

You guys at Crown are doing great work! Keep it up!

No worries, glad I could get it to work on my end.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Interesting times ahead. I've been thinking about those of us who have their financial houses in order (thanks Crown & Dave Ramsey) and our responsibility to help those in need. I'm not talking about paying off someone else’s bad mortgage, but meeting basic needs like food and shelter. My wife's grandmother has told us stories about the great depression and how her mom would hand food out the backdoor of their home in east TN to unemployed and homeless families passing through the area. If/when the house of cards of national, corporate and personal debt crashes down, I just hope our self-centered, hedonistic society can hold together long enough so neighbors have a chance to help neighbors.
NFL lock of the week: AZ 48 DAL 41

Jarhead, I was with you until your NFL lock of the week.

Are you kidding me????

Flip that score around: DAL 48, AZ 41.

I hope you're right. I'm afraid the Dallas O is inconsistent and there is no pass D in big D. AZ has 2nd best pass offense in NFL, playing at AZ, I just have a bad feeling. Oh ya..and I've got Larry Fitzgerald on my fantasy team.
