Eleven years ago today, on the corner of Summer and Waring at Howard's Donuts, I asked the AutumnFawn to marry me. (I know, I know. Sounds a little lacking in the romance department. What can I say? I loved donuts, and I didn't have a clue.)
We were on the way to Paw Paw and Grandma's house to decorate the Christmas tree (one of my favorite traditions). Unfortunately, digital cameras were at a premium back then, so there's no visual evidence of the momentous occasion.
So, here's my "ragamuffinwriter challenge" to you. If you were at Paw Paw and Grandma's house eleven years ago, and you have any photographs that capture our special night, please get double prints and mail them to me, or better, scan and email them.
Time to decorate our trees. Stay tuned for photographic evidence.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I still can't believe you tricked that poor girl into marrying you!
Tonight is the anniversary of my first date with Nathan. It's almost as romantic.
Congrats on your first date anniversary! Our first date was on December 22, 1994.
We are old.
I don't know any dates except the one I got married and I'm pretty sure my wife would say the same thing.
I was at grandma's that night but considering I did not have any children at the time there would have been no reason for me to be carrying a camera around.
i think ive got pictures. ill see if i cant muster them up. if not, you know dad does. however it might be on one of the hundreds of rolls of film he never developed.
It was romantic to me and that is all that matters.
Lots of men go to the exreme to propose to their women, then follow up with heartfelt vows. But after a few years when the going gets tough and the butterflies seem to disappear, they leave 'em.
Thank you for being true to your vows.
